Red Ale
Red ale covers a very broad spectrum of styles, with everything from Irish Red Ales, to IPA-like beers, to Belgian Ambers and to Flemish reds. Its origins are in the lightly hopped pale beers from Ireland, which are given a little colour and caramel flavour from the addition of roasted malts. They are known for their unique malty taste and are on the lower side of the bitterness and alcohol content scales.
